Tour Overview

Queen Elizabeth National Park is in the Western region of Uganda, approximately 400 kilometers by road, southwest of Kampala, Uganda’s capital city. The park is known for its numerous wildlife including African buffalo, Uganda kobs, hippopotamus, giant forest frog, warthog, Nile crocodile, African bush elephant, African leopard, climbing lion and chimpanzee. It is a home to 95 mammal species and over 500 bird species. The park is also famous for its volcanic features including volcanic cones, and deep craters such as the Katwe craters, from which salt is extracted/ mined. So, you will be able to view most of these animals and features while on this safari.

Day 1: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Igongo Cultural Center

Pickup from agreed venue at 6:30 am and set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park. We will have a short stopover at the equator for photography with friends and travel partners before continuing to Mbarara, Igongo Cultural Center where we will have our lunch and visit the museum. At 2:00pm, we will continue our journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Dinner at 8:00pm and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive and boat ride

At 6:00am, we will have an early morning game drive after taking a simple cup of tea. We will end our game drive at 11:00am and we will then be treated to actual breakfast. We will then relax along the poolside and take pictures as we wait for lunch at 1:00pm. At 2:00pm, we will go for a boat ride along the magnificent Kazinga Channel, which is a hub for bird watching, viewing hippos, buffaloes, crocodiles among other water-loving animals. Dinner at 8:00pm and overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and travel back to Kampala

Checkout and breakfast at 7:00am and head to Kyambura gorge for an underground forest walk in search for chimpanzees, monkeys, baboons, and other primates that live in the forest. We will also view the many great ancient tree species, along with some of the 500 bird species. At midday, we will embark on our journey back to Kampala through the Great Maramagambo forest, via Bushenyi district, where we will have our lunch.
Dropoff to agreed stations on arrival to Kampala. End of Safari.
